Clear and Open Communication. 9 Cavanaugh requested that City Manager Morrison present the goals for the 2000-2001 year. 10 Morrison directed the Council's attention to page 36 of the agenda packets, which stated the 11 City's key goals are to: 12 1. Provide 100-Year flood protection for all residents and businesses to protect health and 13 property; 14 2. Preserve the beauty of the property now owned by the Salvation Army Camp to serve 15 both current and future generations; �6 3. Focus on redevelopment initiatives so that the City's image and tax base stays firm; 7 4. Keep the Village look and feel so that the City is attractive to both residents and 18 businesses; 19 5. Protect and maintain the City's infrastructure so that the City works both now and in the 20 future; 211 6. Offer clear, current, and open communications through a variety of means so people are 22 informed about St. Anthony's important issues and news; 23 7. Provide a Park System that offers a mix of recreational opportunities for residents of all 24 ages; 25 8. Shape the future by defining and reviewing regularly the City's goals and fiscal policies. 26 Additionally, Morrison stated that the City has several objectives for the 2000-2001 year in rela- 27 tion to providing 100-year flood protection for all residents and businesses to protect health and 28 property: 29 1. Complete the 29th Street Project; 30 2. Complete the Harding Project; 31 3. Renew the Flood Grant Program. 32 Furthermore,.objectives in relation to redevelopment initiatives so that the image and tax base of 33 the City stays firm were: �4 1. Apache Plaza; 35 2.
