39 <br /> CITY OF ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE <br /> RESOLUTION 03 - 090 <br /> A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE ST. ANTHONY/NEW BRIGHTON <br /> SCHOOL DISTRICT#282 LEVY REFERENDUM <br /> WHEREAS, St. Anthony/New Brighton School District#282 is preparing for a levy <br /> referendum to be considered at the November 4, 2003 Local General Election; and <br /> WHEREAS, said Schools are vital assets to the community as a whole; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Schools' excellent educational qualities are widely respected; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Schools provide integral places in the social and cultural fabric of the <br /> community; and <br /> WHEREAS, a strong, vibrant School District is a catalyst as an economic engine and it attracts <br /> new residents as well as businesses; and <br /> WHEREAS, a community-wide based blue ribbon advisory panel has recommended this <br /> referendum be moved forward; and <br /> WHEREAS, the St. Anthony City Council has met with School District representatives and <br /> understands the need for the referendum, as presented on the 2003 Local Election <br /> ballot. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of St. Anthony <br /> hereby endorses and supports the upcoming St. Anthony/New Brighton School District#282 levy <br /> referendum and encourages community residents to vote "Yes"in support of the referendum. <br /> Adopted this day of , 2003. <br /> Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> City Clerk <br /> Reviewed for Administration: <br /> City Manager <br />
