Resolution 03-095 re: 2004 Street Improvements Project—Receive Plans and <br /> 2 Specifications and Approve Advertisement for Bids. <br /> 3 Mayor Hodson clarified that bids would be opening on December 8, 2003 in the Council <br /> 4 Chambers and that the Council would consider them in February of 2004. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Todd Hubmer noted he met last night with roughly 40 residents to review the final 2004 street <br /> 7 improvement plans. He noted the bid would go out in mid-November. He stated changes and <br /> 8 adjustments could be made between now and that time. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Mr. Hubmer noted additional drainage areas were brought to his attention and would be <br /> 11 addressed. He stated these areas would be addressed and changes would be made in the plans if <br /> 12 needed. Mr. Hubmer indicated this was a great time for the City to go out for bid and noted <br /> 13 local contractors were very competitive at this time. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Councilmember Thuesen asked if drainage issues arose at a later time,would they be able to be <br /> 16 addressed. Mr. Hubmer indicated change orders would be possible if brought to the attention of <br /> 17 staff while the project is still in the process. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Motion by Councilmember Thuesen, seconded by Councilmember Faust, to adopt Resolution <br /> 20 03-095, re: a Resolution Approving Plans and Specifications and Ordering Advertisement for <br /> 21 Bids on the 2004 Street Improvement Plan with the changes noted above by Mayor Hodson. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 VIII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCILMEMBERS. <br /> 26 Mr. Mornson reported on the following: <br /> 27 <br /> 28 o The City Clerk would be retiring next year after numerous years of service. <br /> 29 o There would be a Council Meeting next Tuesday,November 4, 2003. <br /> 30 o He indicated the City was taking Applications for Planning Commission and Park <br /> 31 Commission vacancies. <br /> 32 o The Development Agreement has received preliminary approval from Fannie Mae and he <br /> 33 noted the next step was to rezone the site from Commercial to PUD. <br /> 34 o He congratulated the Council for moving forward with the Northwest Quadrant and noted <br /> 35 he was excited to move forward with the implementation of the agreement. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Councilmember Horst reported that he was proud to be a part of the Apache Redevelopment. He <br /> 38 stated he looks forward to working on this in the future. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 Councilmember Sparks had no report. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 Councilmember Thuesen had no report. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 Councilmember Faust indicated that he received a letter on October 22, 2003 from Jan Reisner <br /> 45 stating the abandoned Burlington Northern Property had been purchased. He noted this was a <br /> 46 step in the right direction for future transportation from White Bear Lake to downtown <br /> 47 Minneapolis. Councilmember Faust added that Stonehouse was just a remnant of the City now. <br />
