Hall, Assistant City Manage <br /> SUBJECT: Rezone Apache Redevelopment Area from Commercial to <br /> Planned Unit Development <br /> Overview: <br /> On September 16, the Planning Commission held a public hearing regarding the <br /> preliminary concept plan and plat and final retail plan and plat for the Apache <br /> Redevelopment area generally bounded by Silver Lane on the north, Silver Lake Road <br /> on the east, the Soo Line Railroad Right-of-Way on the south, and Stinson Boulevard on <br /> the west. <br /> On September 23, the City Council approved the overall concept plan and plat as well <br /> as the final retail plan. The Council adopted Resolution 03-081 approving the documents <br /> and adopted findings of fact and conditions of approval. <br /> On November 18, the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to formally <br /> consider the rezoning of the property from Commercial to Planned Unit Development <br /> (PUD). Please see attached memorandum from John Shardlow of Dahlgren, Shardlow <br /> and Uban (DSU) for more information. <br /> Also attached please find recent communication received into city offices from Canadian <br /> Pacific Railway. <br /> Requested Action: <br /> Staff recommends the Planning Commission recommend approval of the ordinance <br /> rezoning the subject property from Commercial to PUD, pursuant to the findings of fact <br /> and conditions of approval made by the City Council in Resolution 03-081 dated <br /> September 23, 2003. <br /> Attachments: <br /> • 11/18/03 DSU Memorandum <br /> • City Council Resolution 03-081 <br /> • 11/4/03 Canadian Pacific Letter/Brochure <br />
