-9-
I Mr.. Chtlds said the ord:ih-a' nce. would be written to assure that any- veh:icl e. (sel
propelled and motorized) which ' is: not currently registered or roadworthy has
. 3 to be stored undercover and that there could be no vehicles parked. in the front
yard except on what Commissioner Madden termed would have to be "concrete
either asphaltic. or bituminous".

Chair Franzese said she agreed with this requirement but perceived there might
be valid reasons for parking cars in front of the house like her own where
she would soon be having four of her children driving cars..
When the question was raised whether boats and trailers could be stored in

fenced in back yards, Mr.. Childs said he perceived the City could do something
about zoning to provide certain level of aesthetics for front yards but he
wondered- whether the City might begoing too far by trying to impose the same
restrictions 'for the back yards.

When the problem with a bus being parked on residential property for a long

period of time was orought up, Commissioner Werenicz suggested the City might
be able to force its removal on the grounds that, with the possibility of gasoline
and oil leaks, it might have. become "environmentally dangerous" .
- Commissione r Jones suggested there might be some advantages for the Manager
to get the reaction to the ordinance relating to unrelated individuals from
the owners of some of the largest apartment complexes in St. Anthony. Mr.

Childs said that was a good idea because they might even appreciate knowing
the city was developing an ordinance which could support some of the actions
they have to take in response to similar problems with unit residency and vehiPce
parking on their properties.
Motion by Commissioner Madden and seconded by Commissioner Jones to adjourn
the meeting at 10: 10 P.M.'

Motion carried unanimously.

Respectfully submitted,
Helen Crowe, Secretary
