C 2 '3rY OF S9m' e AWrrMC)WW <br /> COUI�C3 �, . .M2IVU'�3✓S . <br /> ._7 U1-4 E 3 0 19 7 <br /> 1 The meeting, which had been rescheduled from June 9th because of a <br /> 2 conflict with -the League. of Minnesota Cities Conference the same week, <br /> 3 was called to order at 5 :28 P.M. by Mayor Sundland. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 Present for roll call: Sundland; Marks,_ Ranallo, Enrooth, Makowske. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Also present: David Childs, City Manager. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 LICENSES/PERMITS/PETITIONS <br /> 10 <br /> 11 Motion by Ranallo, seconded by Marks to grant a contractors license to <br /> 12 Metropolitan Improvement, Inc. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 CLAIMS <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Motion by Marks, seconded by Enrooth to approve payment of $89,500. 00 to <br /> 019 Carlson' s Lake State -Equipment for the new motor grader for which bonds <br /> 20 had been issued in January. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 Councilmember Makowske commented that she was certainly relieved that <br /> 25 the City did not have to pay $5, 500 in sales tax which would be imposed <br /> 26 on future purchases since a 6% sales tax on local governments <br /> 27 legislation had passed this session. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 There were no verified claims included in the agenda packet. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 REPORTS <br /> 32 <br /> 33 COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> 34 <br /> 35' St. Anthony Given Award of Honor for Traffic Safety in 1986 <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Mayor Sundland displayed the plaque the City had received that afternoon <br /> 38 from the Minnesota Safety Council which commended the City for <br /> 39 "exceptional action, prevention,, performance, and traffic safety" during <br /> 40 the previous year. Councilmember Ranallo commented that 1985 had been <br /> 141 the only year he could recall when the City had not been a recipient of <br /> 42 this award. <br /> 43 <br /> �4 RCLLG Report on Quality of St. Paul Water Provided Little Hope that <br /> 5 Roseville Water Quality Would be Improved <br /> 46 <br /> 47 Councilmember Makowske reported the special meeting she and Public Works <br /> 48 Director Larry Hamer had attended,: May 20th, had done little to provide <br /> 49 hope that the odor and smell St. Anthony residents have complained about <br />
