Hamel said density. would_ be high for typical suburban <br /> 3 development but only moderate, .when- considered as a - redevelop . <br /> 4 ment project; <br /> 5 denisty is a little higher than. the total LaBelle Park <br /> 6 project in Columbia Heights, but lower than the 60 unit <br /> 7 building in that project. <br /> 8 Units <br /> 9 -Mr. Hamel indicated 50 - one bedroom and 50 twb .bedrooms in each <br /> 10 building; <br /> 11 design would be very similar to LaBelle Park condominiums from <br /> 12 which the plans for this project would be taken; <br /> 13 in 'all cases would have two dining areas, a formal dining room <br /> 14 and space in the kitchen area to have a small kitchen table; <br /> 15 Mr . Hamel said, although there .might have to be some modifica- <br /> 16 tions to the one bedroom units , the picture he showed basic- <br /> 17 ally indicated the unit types he expected to be provided in <br /> 18 the St. Anthony buildings ; <br /> 019 pointed out that jogs in the buildings would add interest to <br /> 20 the units and said typically, units with different shapes are <br /> 21 more in demand. <br /> 22 Amenities <br /> 23 said his firm tries to provide walk-in closets. in all units <br /> 24 but it might not be possible for some one bedroom units ; <br /> 25 each building would have a community area providing social <br /> 26 and recreational activities; <br /> 27 right now not considering a whirlpool area because they have <br /> 28 found a large area like that turns out to be a maintenance <br /> 29 problem for its location and the rooms above it; <br /> 30 might have a Jacuzi tub .situation in the senior .building; <br /> 31 specific floor plans would come in the .-next planning step, <br /> 32 but have provided Jacuzi rooms in other senior projects which <br /> 33 worked out fine; <br /> 34 told Councilmember Makowske ,didn' t have specific plans yet for <br /> 35 the social space but his firm recognized the need for social/ <br /> •36 recreational activities in senior..projects ; <br /> 9 <br />
