1 The discussions between the Commissioners which followed indicated they
2 perceived it would be only fair to give the tenants most of the summer
3 to get financing for the signs. The possibility that lighting the
4 signs all night might prove to be an annoyance for the residents in the
5 new apartment buildings going up next to this shopping center who can
6 see some of the stores from their windows was explored.
7 MISCELLANEOUS
8 PLANNING WORKSHOP
9 Commissioner Brownell asked Ms. VanderHeyden to make reservations for
10 him to attend the special workshop to be held at the Breezy Point
11 Resort, February 9th. Commissioner Werenicz indicated interest in
12 attending the February 23rd workshop at the Earle Brown Center.
13 ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR 1989
14 The Commissioners based the following on the indication from the City
15 Manager that although the Council had not been able to officially
16 appoint the incumbents to their same seats on the Commission which were
17 vacated by law at the end of December, he had sensed that was their
18 intent following the interviews of candidates the Council had conducted
19 the previous Thursday evening.
20 Commissioner Madden Unanimously elected to Serve as Planning Commission
21 Chair
22 Motion by Werenicz, seconded by Franzese to nominate John Madden as
23 Commission Chair for 1989.
24 Motion by Franzese, seconded by Werenicz to elect by acclamation.
25 Motion carried unanimously.
26 Commissioner -Hansen to Continue Service as vice chair for 1989
27 Motion by Franzese, seconded by Madden to nominate Ron Hansen to serve
28 as Planning Commission vice chair during 1989.
29 Motion by Franzese, seconded by Werenicz to elect by acclamation.
30 Notion carried unanimously.
31 ADJOURNMENT
32 Motion by Hansen, seconded by Werenicz to adjourn the Planning
33 Commission at 9: 35 P.M.
34 Mption car-ried unanimously.
Respectfully submitted,
Helen Crowe, Secretary
12
