There was also an
expression of concern that trucks might be loading and unloading the
pallets of olive oil to the annoyance of the adjoining residents.
, Councilmember Marks indicated he had some business arrangements with
some of the people involved which might give the impression of a
"conflict of interest" for him and absented himself from the room for
the rest of the discussion.
Mr. Childs indicated he had gotten a general sense of the Council's
wishes in this regard which along with the advice he had gotten from the
City Attorney would form the basis of his response to the request, so
no formal action was taken by the Council.'
Stuart Bonniwell to Continue to Audit City Financial Statements
A copy of Mr. Bonniwell's December 20th proposal to audit the above for
the period ending December 31, 1988 at a fee not to exceed $8,850.00 had
been provided in the agenda packet. Mr. Childs indicated he perceived
the fee had -been reduced from the $11 ,200.00 charged to perform the .1987
audit because the City staf f is able to do some of the things the
auditor had to do previously. He also said the reason the State
Auditor had given the City an "unqualified" audit this year had been
because at his own suggestion an accounting ledger had been set up for
fixed assets and it had been the absence of such accounting procedures.,
among a few other things, which had caused St. Anthony to get a
"qualified" audit in the past.
Council Action
Motion by Ranallo, seconded by Enrooth to accept the proposal from
Stuart J.
