1 DEPARTMENTS AND COMMITTEES
2 Brief discussions preceded the orders to file the following:
3 -April 11th report from Hance & LeVahn reporting cases the City
4 Prosecutors had handled in Hennepin County District Court up to and
5 including April 5, 1989;
6 -March Liquor Operation Sales Summary;
7 -January and February Police Department Reports including the February
8 Police Reserves Report.
9 CITY MANAGER
10 April 18, 1989 Staff Meeting Notes
11 Mr. Childs told Councilmember Marks he believed the sidewalk along the
12 west side of Silver Lake Road up to Highway 694 was a part of Ramsey
13 County's .preliminary plans for upgrading that same portion of Silver
14 Lake Road and would be paid for from County MSA funds. The City
15 Manager said he anticipated the project would be a couple of years
16 * down the road, although funding was more available for this project
17 than it had been for County Road D.
18 Councilmember Makowske observed that the Public Works Department had
0 9 managed to dispose of most of the dead fish along the Silver Lake
0 shoreline. Mr. Childs told her it had taken several workers and a
21 portion of a six yard dumpster to get the job done in about a day.
22 Councilmember Enrooth said he understood most of the winter killed
23 fish were carp with only a few panfish to dispose of.
24 Mr. Childs indicated he wasn't certain whether 29th Avenue had been
25 swept by the Public Works crews, but in any event, the Public Works
26 Department would probably have to, as in years past, do a second
27 sweeping to remove the refuse from boulevards which residents push out
28 ' into the streets.
29 Staff Directed to Adapt Minneapolis Food Packaging Ordinance for St.
30 Anthony
31 Ms. VanderHeyden's April 20th memorandum discussed the copy of the
32 ordinance .,which she had included in the agenda packet and Mr. Childs
33 reported the various reactions he anticipated from other municipalities,
34 the counties and the state, some of which might pre-empt local
35 regulations.
36 Councilmember Marks indicated he had been the one who requested staff
37 get a copy of the ordinance and said he believed it should be modified
38 and passed by the Council.
