LICENSES/PERMITS/PETITIONS <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Amusement Devices <br /> 16 Motion by Marks , second by Enrooth to approve the license for <br /> 17 amusement devices for Sheik' s Garden which is located at <br /> 18 Apache Plaza Shopping Center. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 The City Manager advised that this owner will be applying for <br /> 21 a conditional use permit in the near future for additional <br /> 22 amusement devices . Those machines presently located at the Fun <br /> 23 Center will be moved into the Sheik ' s Garden. The Fun Center <br /> 24 will be closing and the owner of the machines presently has <br /> 25 nine of them located at the Fun Center. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 The City Manager felt it would be more appropriate if the <br /> 28 machines were licensed rather than the owner of the business • <br /> 29 where they are located. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 The owner of Sheik' s Garden will be attending the Planning <br /> 32 Commission meeting in February regarding the conditional use <br /> 33 permit . He will also be relinquishing the wine license for <br /> 34 that location at Apache Plaza. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Sheik' s owner advised the Council he intends to enforce strict <br /> 37 rules in his restaurant , particularly the ban on alcohol and <br /> 38 smoking. He will maintain separate locations for the eating <br /> 39 area and the amusement machines and will also have a place for <br /> 40 children to play. He will post in a prominent place the rules <br /> 41 for using the machines. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Mayor Ranallo recalled the trouble these types of machines <br /> 44' have generated in the past and noted that they can attract an <br /> 45 undesirable element . <br /> 46 <br /> 47 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 48 <br /> 49 <br /> . 50 6.
