PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
APRIL 21 , 1992
PAGE 17

focus-ing on the environmental issues regarding Silver
Lake.

E. Review Housina Maintenance Ordinance

Urbia advised that this version of the Housing
Maintenance Ordinance includes the recommended changes
requested by the Planning Commission . He noted that the
"Truth In Housing" section has been removed as it cannot
be enforced.

Some discussion followed regarding errors which are in
the draft and some paragraphs which were omitted .

Commissioners Gondorchin and Madden felt they needed
additional time for review of the draft ordinance .

Urbia stated that the goal of the City Council is to hold
a public hearing on the ordinance in September .

Faust requested that copies of the corrected draft are
sent to members of the Planning Commission.

7 . STAFF UPDATE

Apache Plaza

The City Manager met with representatives of Super Value last
week. He felt the article which appeared in the Bulletin
erroneously reported the situation as to the delay in the CUB
decision . The article made it appear as though the City is
causing the delay.

Super Value representatives were upset by the article but have
found out why the incorrect information was printed.

The' City Manager noted that Dennis Cavanaugh has not been
cooperative with Super Value and has changed both of the
proposals received for the 'CUB Store. The City Manager felt
this proposed store is the last hope for Apache Plaza.

Demographics in the St . Anthony area were supportive of this
store. If Super Value were to put a CUB store at both Apache
Plaza and at 18th and Central Avenues , both of the stores
would be smaller . If only one CUB store were built , and it was
located at Apache Plaza , it would be larger .
