Citizens are being requested to pause on June 14th 8 at 6 : 00 p .m. to recognize this event . 9 10 The League of Minnesota Cities Annual Conference starts on 11 Tuesday, June 9th . This is the date of the: regular Council 12 Meeting. The Mayor suggested the date be changed to June 2nd. 13 14 Motion by Marks , second by Wagner to change the first Regular 15 Council meeting in June . to June 2 , 1992 . 16 17 18 Motion carried unanimously 19 20 21 The City Manager requested that those Councilmembers who plan 22 to attend the League of Minnesota Cities Conference let him 23 know as soon as possible so the early registration discount 24 can be gotten . 25 26 27 B. Report of the City Manager 28 29 30 1 . Sheik ' s Garden Restaurant Conditional Use Permit 31 32 The City Manager reviewed the history of this request . He 33 noted that there were some new conditions placed on -34 - gr-a-n-ting of - -the conditional use -permit by--the- Planning - 35 Commission in its recommendation for approval . _ 36 37 Approval of locating twenty-three amusement devices is 38 still the request . The original request was for -thirty- 39 three amusement devices . 40 41 Howard Knutson, a resident of Burnsville and a friend and 42 legal counsel to the owner of Sheik ' s Garden Restaurant , 43 advised the Council he is supportive of approving the 44 request . He again stated that the owner, Mr. Alwan , is 45 focusing on operating an establishment which would 46 attract families . It is Mr . Alwan ' s intention to monitor 47 the. behavior of those using the amusement devices very 48 closely. 49 50 Marks observed that the present proposal is identical to 51 the original one which would not allow pool tables on the 52 premises , decreased the number of amusement devices and 53 was in agreement for an annual review with the owner, the 54 City Manager and the Police Chief .
