PEDESTAL: A foundation or base of a ground sign which either 7 directly supports the signage or completely screens the supporting members of the 8 sign. 9 Subd. 19. PERSON: An individual, firm, association, organization, partnership, 10 trust or corporation. 11 Subd. 20. POLITICAL SIGN: Any sign which states the name or picture of an 12 individual seeking election or appointment to a public office, or pertaining to a 13 forthcoming election or referendum, or pertaining to or advocating political views or 14 policies erected on private property, which are erected by a bona fide candidate for 15 political office or by a person or group supporting such a candidate and which 16 contains the name of the person or group chairman responsible for the erection and 17 removal of the sign. 18 Subd. 21. PYLON SIGN: Any sign which is freestanding by virtue of being 19 structurally independent of any structure or object other than uprights, braces or 20 poles, without guywires or pedestal. 21 Subd. 22. PROJECTING SIGN: A sign other than a wall sign, which is affixed 22 to a building and projects outward more than 15 inches from the building wall or 23 structure. 24 Subd. 23. PUBLIC SERVICE SIGN: Any sign primarily intended to promote 25 items of general interest to the community. 26 Subd. 24. REAL ESTATE SIGN: A sign pertaining to the sale, lease or rental 27 of the real estate upon which it is located. 28 Subd. 25. ROOF LINE: The uppermost line of the roof of a building, or in the 29 case of an extended facade, the uppermost height of the facade. 30 Subd. 26. ROOF SIGN: A sign erected upon the roof or parapet of a building, 31 the entire face of which is situated above the roof level of the building to which it is 32 attached, and which is wholly or partially supported by the building.
