sign advertising a group of lots for sale within a subdivision or group of houses for <br /> sale within a housing project, provided that the total area of such sign shall not <br /> exceed 64 square feet with no sing]e dimension in excess of 16 feet. The display of <br /> such sign shall be limited to a 6-month period. At the expiration of such period, the <br /> applicant may request a further extension of time, otherwise the sign must be <br /> removed. <br /> Subd. 9. TEMPORARY SIGNS, OTHER THAN POLITICAL SIGNS: Temporary <br /> signs, other than political signs, pertaining to drives or events of civic, philanthropic, <br /> educational or religious organizations, provided permission of the City Manager must <br /> be obtained to erect such signs upon or over public property and provided further <br /> that such signs shall not be erected or posted for a period of more than 14 days prior <br /> to the date of the event and must be removed within 3 days after the.event. If prior <br /> permission is not obtained from the City Manager, the sign shall be removed <br /> immediately. <br /> Subd. 10. TEMPORARY COMMERCIAL SIGNS: Signs which do not have a sign <br /> surface area in excess of 32 square feet and which are erected or displayed for a <br /> period of time not to exceed 30 days in any year. Permission of the City Manager <br /> must be obtained to erect such signs. If prior permission is not obtained from the <br /> City Manager, the sign shall be removed immediately. <br /> Subd. 11. FLAGS AND EMBLEMS: Flags and emblems of governmental, civic, <br /> philanthropic, educational or religious organizations. Flags of the United States, the <br /> state, the city, foreign nationals having diplomatic relations with the United States, <br /> and any other flag adopted or sanctioned by an elected legislative body or compete'nt <br /> jurisdiction, provided that such a flag shall not exceed 60 square feet in area and shall <br /> not be flown from a pole the top of which is more than 40 feet in height., These flags <br /> must be flown in accordance with protocol established by the Congress of the United <br /> States for the Stars and Stripes. Any flag not meeting any one or more of these <br /> conditions shall be considered a temporary sign and shall be subject to regulation as <br /> such. <br /> Subd. 12. RESIDENTIAL REAL ESTATE SIGNS: Real estate signs erected on <br /> private property, provided the combined sign surface area of such is not greater than <br /> 12 square feet. Real estate signs must be removed within 7 days after the closing <br /> date. <br /> Subd. 13. COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE SIGNS: Real estate signs erected on <br /> private property, provided the combined sign surface area of such is not greater than <br /> 32 square feet. Real estate signs must be removed within 7 days after the closing <br /> date. <br /> Subd. 14. SIGNS AFFIXED ON BENCHES AT PUBLIC BUS STOPS <br /> 9 <br />
