STAFF REPORT • DATE: September 16, 1993 TO: Planning Commission FROM: David Mark Urbia, Management Assistant ITEM: AGENDA ITEMS -- VI. B. - D. B. Planning Commission Vice-Chair Vacancy. With the resignation of Rick Werenicz, there is a vacancy for the Vice-Chair position. In the Planning Commission Bylaws, there is no specific mention of filling a Vice-Chair vacancy unless the Vice-Chair succeeds the Chair. However, due to the importance of the position, I would recommend filling the vacancy at this meeting. Applicable Bylaws regarding the Vice-Chair Position: 3. The commission at its first regular meeting in January of each year shall elect a chair and vice-chair. • 4. B. Vice-chair: During the absence, disability, or disqualification of the chair, the vice-chair shall exercise or perform all the duties and be subject to all the responsibilities of the chair. 14. The vice-chair shall succeed the chair if he/she vacates his/her office before his/her term is completed, the vice-chair to serve the unexpired term of the vacated office. A new vice-chair shall be elected at the next regular meeting. C. Designate Planning Commission Representative to the- Environmental Quality/Recycling Committee. The newest Planning Commission member, Douglas, Bergstrom, is a member of the Environmental Quality/Recycling Committee. Mr. Bergstrom has indicated a desire to remain on that committee as well as serve on. the Planning Commission. Mr. Gondorchin, the previously appointed representative, indicated that he would serve on an interim basis. I would recommend appointing Mr. Bergstrom because. of his desire to serve on both boards. In addition, the appointment of Mr. Bergstrom would create an opening on the Environmental Committee, which would provide an opportunity to serve for another St. Anthony resident. 1-_.,�!�v�a:L...-..� _ i.
