Subject: Uariance Request by William and Euelyn Hedberg
I am sure that when our home was built in the 58's that one car
garages were considered a luxury. Rs time has progressed one car garages
haue become an oddity rather than the norm. Most new homes come equipped
with two or three car garages.
The building of a two car attached garage to our home to within fiue
feet of the east lot line seems to only make sense. If we were required to
follow the present guidelines, our garage would end up'being approximate
fifteen feet wide and would neither allow full use of our property or parking
of two uehicies inside.
With the aduent of second cars, boats, trailers and other large storage
items, the necessity for a two car garage becomes euident. The absence of
the urban blight created by the inside storage of these items can be readily
seen In neighborhoods where two car garage are abound. Being able to
accomplish this would allow us to continue our beautification and upgrading
of our home as we haue been doing for the past two years.
Rs we haue just purchased this property in the past two years, we
don't feel we can be held responsible for the poor placement of the garage on
the property as it now exists. Had the original owner put a little more
thought into this matter, maybe the garage would haue been placed further
back on the property or attached as we are attempting to do now. This action
