Parks Commission Meeting Minutes <br /> January 29, 2001 <br /> Page 7 <br /> 1 Jindra asked if it was graded per specifications or if there was some recourse. Mr. Hartman <br /> .2 restated it was designed for and graded to act as a retention area and trying to make it a rink is a <br /> 3 . stretch.. He assured the.Commission that it will work better next year. <br /> 4 Zurbey asked if the contractor should pay for the regrading. Mr. Hartman stated he will research <br /> 5 that issue. <br /> 6 VIII. REPORTS. <br /> 7 A. Community Services. <br /> 8 Skrivseth stated they will be meeting this Thursday, February 1, 2001. <br /> 9 B. School Board. <br /> 10 No report was received. <br /> 11 C. worts Boosters. <br /> 12 Jindra noted the information from the Sports Boosters and advised they gave $3,000 for the <br /> 13 drinking fountain and there may be more funding to come. <br /> 4 Zurbey,advised that charitable gambling is down but.they just started a new raffle. <br /> 15 Jindra suggested a formal letter be drafted to request funding from the Lions. Zurbey stated he <br /> 16 would like to first meet with them to discuss these ideas. He stated he will call to request a <br /> 17 meeting date. <br /> 18 IX. OTHER BUSINESS. <br /> 19 Mr. Hartman reported that the Council has changed their schedule to include one regular meeting <br /> 20 and one work session per month. <br /> 21 Jindra reported on her attendance at the recent Council retreat and discussion held on goals. She <br /> 22 advised she asked about inviting a Police Officer to discuss park patrolling and asked for the <br /> 23 Commissioners to provide additional ideas. <br /> 24 Ganley reported on the Northwest Quadrant meeting he.attended and reported the group will next <br /> 25 get input from developers. He advised that the Salvation Army property should be considered as <br /> 26 "open" for now and a community-wide discussion will be held. <br /> 27 Jindra stated at the Council retreat, a letter was distributed from Hennepin County Parks <br /> 28 indicating they had made a market value offer. <br /> t 3 29 <br /> 30 X.
