MEMORANDUM
DATE: 10/15/03 MEETING DATE: 10/21/03
TO: Planning Commission Members
FROM: Susan M.H. Hall, Assistant City Manager
SUBJECT: Adult Day Care in Industrial Zoning District
Background:
Michael Wagner, who owns a professional office building at 2924 Anthony Lane North in
the Light Industrial zoning district, has approached city staff about having an adult day
care center in his building. A potential client who has an interest in his building has
approached him. At this time, adult day care is allowed in the Commercial zoning district
as a permitted conditional use, per the adopted ordinance resolution attached.
Mr. Wagner has asked to be placed on the October 21 Planning Commission meeting
agenda for discussion purposes of said request. Mr. Wagner and his client have both
asked staff if this request can be expedited. If adult day care were to be allowed in the
Industrial zoning district, city staff has advised Mr. Wagner that he would need to go
through a process for such approval (see attached letter).
Attachments:
• Ordinance 2003-007
• September 30, 2003, letter to Michael Wagner
I
