• MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: March 19 , 1982 <br /> TO: Dave Childs , City Manager <br /> Ron Berg, Administrative Assistant <br /> Department Heads <br /> FROM: Lila .Johnson, License/Billing Clerk <br /> SUBJECT: Notes From March 18 , 1982 Staff Meeting <br /> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> The staff meeting opened at 9 : 35 A.M. <br /> Present: Carol Johnson, Lee Entner, Don Hickerson, Dave Childs , <br /> Ron Berg, Lila Johnson and Ray Nelson. <br /> Absent : Larry Hamer, who is on vacation. <br /> Carol reported that she had attended a Finance Officer' s meeting. <br /> The following were some of the items discussed: <br /> (1) Uniform chart of accounts for municipalities prepared by the <br /> • State Auditor' s Office . Recommend we use them, but it is not <br /> mandatory . <br /> (.2) A representative from the State Revenue- Department was the <br /> - speaker-. He--stated that -State -local -government .-aid for 1983 will <br /> be what we were originally supposed to receive for 1982 (about <br /> 11% more than was actually received for 1982) . One of the <br /> proposed changes to make up state deficit was to decrease the <br /> homesteadcredit payments to counties , but taxpayers will get <br /> homestead credit. Levy limits are set at 8% for 1983 . <br /> Ray Nelson reported that as of last week business was gradually <br /> going -up. He is thinking about having a golf and tennis tournament <br /> in June. <br /> Lila discovered that there is a house on Stinson Boulevard and also <br /> one by Jim's Speedy Market for which the City of Minneapolis should <br /> have been collecting for water at one and for sewer on the other. <br /> She will notify the Minneapolis Water Department. <br /> Lee Entner stated that our new firefighter, Don Drusch , will start <br /> on March 29th. ' He also reported that Tornado Preparedness Week will <br /> be March 28 through April 3. We will be having a practice mock <br /> tornado drill on April 1st. This will be conducted all over the state . <br /> Some safety precautions have been changed with regard to tornadoes . <br /> • This will be one of the items for the newsletter. <br /> Don Hickerson reported that a portion of the new drunk driving laws <br /> are now in effect. He reported that the counties are very disorganized <br />
