Connie Kroeplin, Administrative Secretary SUBJECT: Staff Meeting - October 18 , 1983 --------------------------------------------------------------------- The meeting opened at 9 :-30 A.M. Those present were Lee Entner, Dave Childs , Connie. Kroeplin, Carol Johnson, Don Hickerson and Ray Nelson. Larry Hamer was absent. The new municipal liquor warehouse is scheduled to be opened November 11th. The advertising program has begun and the roof sign will .be in place sometime. during the week of November 24th , according to Ray Nelson. . He mentioned the Oktoberfest at Apache Plaza went well for the liquor operations . Lee Entner •recently attended the State Fire Chiefs conference where workshops were presented on future Fire Department needs , the bene- fits of community insurance , etc. Chief Entner indicated there have ` already been 17 to 18 interested bidders on the fire pumpers . The bids will be opened November 15, 1983. There ensued a lengthy discussion on the future of the fire joint purchasing group . It appears interest growing rapidly and the manner in which the program is administered must ne decided. Chief Entner received several constructive suggestions on this topic from those present. Jeff Luther- has pneumonia and is in the hospital , Chief Hickerson informed us . Officer Luther is the instructor for the first aid response course , which will be postponed. Chief Hickerson also informed those present Councilman Marks ' home had been broken into sometime during the day, October 17th. Officer Arvid Protelsch will retire November 13th after 20 years on the City 's police force. The department is utilizing the MPRS to hire another officer. Also, one of the City ' s Police Reserves has submitted his application for the position. TSB, the City 's computer service, has been bought by Comserv. During the change-over process , there may be a delay in some of the reports . Mrs . Johnson also mentioned the upcoming Municipals dinner at the 'Sheraton in Brooklyn Park.. Municipals is an organization comprised ,of office persons employed by area municipalities. • This year's Christmas party -has been scheduled for Sunday night, December 4th at the American Legion. Details of the party were dis- cussed and further information will be sent to all City employees .
