Engstrom, Detective' Captain <br /> - SUBJECT: Case Status for March, 1983 <br /> In March, 1983, I screened fifty-one -(51) new cases for the <br /> month. , Of those cases, twenty-two (22) met the criteria for <br /> an active investigation. I carried an additional nineteen -(19) <br /> cases over from previous months into March. <br /> Those twenty-two new cases investigated in March are as follows : <br /> 1 - Suspicious Fire 1 - Suspect Ruled accidental <br /> 1 - Forgery/Theft by Check 1 - Suspect Pending charge <br /> 2 - Felony Assaults 7 - Suspects Pending charges <br /> 1 - Intent to Escape Tax 1 - Suspect Charged <br /> 2 - Crim. Damage to Prop. 1 - Suspect, Pending charges <br /> 1 - U. U. M. V. 1 - Suspect Charged <br /> 4 - Terroristic Threats 3 - Suspects 1 - Charged <br /> 1 - Obstruct Police 1 - Suspect 1 - Charged* <br /> 1 - Recover Stolen Prop. 1 - Suspect Mpls P. D. Officer initiated arrests <br /> were high, also. Clearance rate for March' s fifty-one cases is <br /> 31%. Sixteen (16) out of those twenty-two (22) cases investigated <br /> were cleared by either arrest/complaint or police level. <br /> There were nine (9) residential burglaries and three ( 3) business <br /> burglaries. One (1) burglary was cleared by arrest and possible <br /> suspects developed for six (6) other residential burglaries. <br /> Total loss for March, 1983, for theft related crimes, including <br /> burglary, robbery, fraud and forgery - - - - - - $25, 705 . 00 <br /> Total loss from criminal damage : to- property (Vandalism) for <br /> March - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - $ 1, 897. 00 <br /> • Total recovery of stolen, abandoned-contraband/property for. <br /> March - - - - - - .- - - - - - $ 7, 725 . 00 <br /> J <br />
