Agenda Item: Reports-3a:- Status : Informational <br /> • MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: April 21, 1983 <br /> TO: David Childs , City Manager <br /> Department Heads <br /> FROM: Connie Kroeplin, Secretary <br /> SUBJECT: Staff Meeting Notes - April 20 , 1983 <br /> -------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> The meeting began at 9 : 45 A.M. Present were : Carol Johnson, _Don <br /> Hickerson, .Ray- Plelson, Dave Childs , Larry Hamer, Lee Entner, and <br /> Connie Kroeplin. <br /> Carol Johnson is in the process of updating the City 's license fee <br /> schedule.- She has surveyed several other communities and will <br /> present a report to the Council at their May 10th meeting. She <br /> noted that the final changes and additions will be written into the <br /> City Ordinance. <br /> Larry Hamer reported the bids-for painting the City ' s water tower <br /> will be opened April 21 and will be awarded at the Council ' s <br /> April 26 meeting. He went on to say the tower will be 'down for <br /> most of the month of May, as the process will take about four weeks <br /> to complete. During that time extra men will be at the filter plant <br /> for 16-18 hours daily. As soon as the exact time frame is determined, <br /> the Police and Fire Departments will be notified. <br /> Mr. Hamer also discussed the upcoming construction on the Stinson <br /> watermain. All parties concerned with the project have been notified <br /> and the persons whose trees have to be removed have agreed to the <br /> removal . The necessary permits for both the painting of the elevated <br /> water tower and the construction of the Stinson watermain have been <br /> obtained. <br /> Mr. Hamer also indicated the sewer cleaning process is about a month <br /> ahead of schedule. He also made mention that Matheny Construction <br /> will finish its work on the St. Anthony Boulevard Bridge by the end <br /> of May, weather permitting. <br /> Lee Entner brought up the status of the fitness program. The members <br /> of his department have all received their physicals as have most of <br /> of the Police Department. <br /> Chief Entner indicated there are five fire departments. interested <br /> in purchasing new fire pumpers for their respective departments . <br /> A committee was formed to research this major purchase and is <br /> developing the specifications at this time . <br /> • <br /> l <br />
