ANTHONY <br /> REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------ <br /> • J 1 <br /> Date Submitted Type of Action Requested Agenda Item Number . <br /> Resolution <br /> July 26, 1983 Ordinance G-2 <br /> Date Action Requested Formal Action/Motion Title Robert Slick - <br /> x Other <br /> Non-Alcoholic Bar-Condit- <br /> ional use request. <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------ <br /> TO: Mayor and Councilmen <br /> FROM: David Childs, City Manager <br /> -------------------------------------------------------------•----------- <br /> SUMMARY DISCUSSION OF SUBJECT : Attached is a request from Robert Slick, 3400 <br /> Buchanan Street N.E. for approval of a conditional use permit to allow the operation <br /> of a non-alcoholic bar at 2533 Harding (formerly occupied by Chick's Billiards) . <br /> conditional use approval is required by Section 9, Subd. 3.8 of the Zoning Ordinance. <br /> As of this date, no objections have been received from any neighboring residents. <br /> Mr. Slick's letter describes, his proposal and rules in detail. No complairnts or <br /> comments were received by the Planning Commission and they have recommended approval <br /> with the following conditions which are acceptable to the applicant. <br /> Findings: 1. This would appear to be an accetpable use in a <br /> commercial district. <br /> 2. Adequate parking and access would be provided in that <br /> ' location. <br /> 3. There would be sufficient distance between the facilit <br /> and the adjoining residential neighborhood. <br /> Conditions:l. No more than 2 non-coin operated pool tables <br /> would be allowed . <br /> 2. Only modest amounts of snack type foods would be <br /> served. <br /> 3. The establishment would be open to the public and <br /> not become a private club. <br /> 4. Noise levels would not be, a nuisance. <br /> 5. Review of the permit in one year and if not continued, <br /> the council should have the burden -of responsibility <br /> ALTERNATIVES: ' to justify not allowed continuance. <br /> Approve or disapprove the Planning Commission recommendations as <br /> Presented or modify as desired by the Council. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends approval of the Planning Commissions recommendations. <br /> CITY MANAGER' S REVIEW: COMMENTS : <br /> P <br />
