1The issues of enforcement and determination of what's commercially <br /> 02 acceptable were left for further staff research. <br /> 3 Council Action <br /> 4 Motion by Marks, seconded by Makowske to direct staff to study the <br /> 5 Minneapolis Food Packaging Ordinance further and make the -appropriate <br /> 6 changes necessary for a St. Anthony ordinance. <br /> 7 Notion carried unanimously. <br /> 8 Council Authorizes a S2,000 00 Loan for a St Anthony Parade Float <br /> 9 A copy of the agreement with Parade Productions Incorporated to <br /> 10 construct and decorate the above 26 foot long, 10 foot wide, 12 foot <br /> it high float for $4,500 .00, which had been executed by the President of <br /> 12 the St. Anthony Chamber of Commerce, had been included in the agenda <br /> 13 packet as well as the drawing of the proposed float. Mr. Childs <br /> 14 reported that the VillageFest Committee through the Chamber of Commerce, <br /> 15 had requested that the City authorize the initial $2,000.00 loan to get <br /> 16 the process started. Ms. VanderHeyden reported the Committee had <br /> 17 received a contribution of $2,500.00 from the Tri-City American Legion; <br /> 18 $500.00 from TCF; $200.00 from .Berger Transfer; and she thought $500.00 <br /> 19 from the St. Anthony National Bank as well as a number of $25.00 and <br /> 20 $10.00 donations from other sources to help fund the project. <br /> 21 Committee members are continuing the phone solicitations of other <br /> 22 businesses and residents are also being contacted, the Assistant to the <br /> 3 City Manager said. She also reported the VillageFest Committee had <br /> 4 decided the previous evening to get a beverage company to send out a <br /> 25 refrigerated van which could serve as the Committee headquarters from <br /> 26 which Committee members could sell ice cream, pop, and popcorn with <br /> 27 .profits used to support the float project. The Fest button only needed <br /> 28 a logo, Ms. VanderHeyden added. At the suggestion of several <br /> 29 Councilmembers, she agreed to contact Don Makowske personally to see if <br /> 30 he would be willing to direct his talents to that project.
