r
May 14, 1990
City of St. Anthony
3301 Silver Lake Road
Minneapolis, Minnesota 55418
Dear Members of the Planning Council :
I have just purchased a lot located at 3305 Edwards St . N. E.
The decision to purchase this property was based on the quality
of new homes in this area , the market value of homes in St.
Anthony Village, and the proximity to family in the area since
1939.
Having found the perfect location, I have very carefully designed
a floor plan for a home tailored to fit the surrounding neighbor-
hood plus meet my personal needs now and in the future. Key to
this plan is a one level easily accessible layout, utilizing
the east, south, and west exposures to maximum benefit based
on the dimensions of this lot . The criteria for one level easy
• accessibility is essential since this is to be my last permanent
home and because of my mother ' s age and future care of her .
As part of the plan for future construction is a three season
porch which could only be extended from the back of the house.
Because of the necessary clearances of house to street and
house to rear property line, it would be necessary to have a
variance to accomodate the porch. Given the size of the home,
location of the lot, and conformity to the neighborhood, I feel
quite certain the addition of a porch would in no way negatively
impact the adjacent homeowners . Because of the suitability of
this design for me, the neighborhood , and the conformity and
enhancement of the land, I request the permission now, before
construction of the home is started . I consider it an integral
part of the design of the home.
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to many happy
years in this home as part of the vibrant St. Anthony Village
community.
Sincerely,
Sharon-lee Clarke
