DATE: October 2, 1991 •
TO: Larry Hamer, Public Works Director
FROM: David Mark Urbia, Management Assistant
ITEM: Other Cities' Fence Ordinances
The following cities have been contacted regarding their fence ordinances:
1. Columbia Heights -- comprehensive, details how certain types of fences should be
built, does not allow barbed wire fences only.
2. Fridley -- no spike fences allowed, presumably for safety reasons.
3. Roseville -- Barbed wire fences prohibited. Entire fence shall be placed on property,
good side of fence should face street or adjacent property.
4. New Brighton -- no fence ordinance?
5. Brooklyn Center -- no fence ordinance pertaining to the types of fences allowed.
I have attached the Columbia Heights and Roseville ordinances.
If you need further survey work done, please let me know.
•
•
