KM •y-
•
rzv
Engineering Company
8300 Norman Center Drive
Minneapolis.MN 55437-1026
Phone: (612)832.2600
Fax: (612)835-0186
February 14, 1992,
Mr. Larry Hamer
Director of Public Works
City of St. Anthony
3301 Silver Lake Road
St. Anthony, MN 55418
Dear Mr. Hamer:
At your request to Denny Palmer, I have provided details on services
provided in December 1991. A revised statement is enclosed.
I have also prepared a table comparing proposed fees, authorizations and
billing. The proposals were made on a time and expenses basis with budget
estimates not to be exceeded without prior approval of the City. Expenditures
exceeded estimates due to unforeseen difficulties in bidding and site topography.
• The City is not obligated to pay this overrun, but we are requesting reciprocity
for what we consider to be a good faith effort to provide a quality project at
an appropriate total project cost.
Also enclosed is an update of estimates of project costs from our August 20,
1991 letter. As you can see, the realized project costs for those items in the
table are reasonably close, even including the additional 12 feet of RCP needed
due to the large void.
That so much excitement has been generated in the process was unintended.
We are hopeful that ultimately you may view this project as a well functioning
facility that was built at near the budgeted costs despite some unforeseen
challenges.
Sinc ely,
Dana R.
