REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br /> APRIL 13 , 1993 <br /> 3 PAGE 5 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Councilmember Wagner noted that the plan for the Kiwanis Club <br /> 7 and elementary school children to jointly work on a clean up <br /> 8 project did - not materialize. He said that the Kiwanis Club <br /> 9 members plan to continue the project by cleaning up debris <br /> 10 from all of the City' park areas . <br /> 12 2 . Report of Councilmember Flemina <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Councilmember Fleming attended a meeting of the Board of <br /> 15 Directors of the Northwest Youth and Family Services . A <br /> 16 fundraiser was planned for April 18th with the sale of almost <br /> 17 new toys and books . <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Councilmember Fleming expressed her disappointment at finding <br /> 20 out about the Metropolitan Transit bill from the newspapers. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 This issue addresses the problems being experienced between <br /> 23 the MTC and the Minneapolis Park Board. The MTC is running <br /> 24 one of its bus routes on a very short span of a parkway in <br /> 25 Minneapolis . This route was established without Park Board <br /> 26 permission and the Park Board is opposed to this practice. The <br /> legislation has already received a hearing and is processing <br /> onto the Senate floor for discussion. Its chief sponsor is a <br /> 29 senator from south Minneapolis . <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Councilmember Fleming felt this information should have been <br /> 32 tracked more closely by the representative and senator for St . <br /> 33 Anthony Village and that. the Council should have been kept <br /> 34 apprised. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Mayor Ranallo requested that residents of Autumn Woods be <br /> 37 advised of this legislation. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 3 . Report of Councilmember Enrooth <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Counci.lmember Enrooth serves on the Association of <br /> 42 Metropolitan Municipalities ' Board of Directors . He advised <br /> 43 the board met last Thursday and has a very busy agenda. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 The ARM publishes a grid which reflects the status of <br /> 46 legislative bills .
