CALL TO ORDER <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Mayor Rana 1 lo called the Board of Review to order at 6 : 30 p.m. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 2 . ROLL CALL <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Council Present : Mayor Ranallo and Councilmembers Enrooth, <br /> 14 Fleming and Wagner. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 Council Absent : Councilmember Marks <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Staff Present : City Manager Burt , Management Assistant Urbia <br /> 19 and Hennepin County Appraiser Positzky. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 3. PURPOSE OF THE BOARD OF REVIEW <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Mayor Ranallo explained that the purpose of the Board of <br /> 24 Review it to review property valuations as ot January 2, 1993 <br /> 25 and to hear appeals from citizens who feel aggrieved or have <br /> questions regarding property valuations . <br /> The Mayor also explained that any property owner who is not <br /> 29 satisfi'ed with the values placed on his/her property as a <br /> 30 result of this meeting, can make an appointment to be heard at <br /> 31 the Hennepin County Board of Equalization meetings. These <br /> 32 meet-ings are held the last two weeks in June. The deadline for <br /> 33 making an appointment to be included on the agenda is June <br /> 34 6th. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 The appraiser advised those in attendance which quadrant of <br /> 37 the City had on-site inspections this year. It was also noted <br /> 38 that if another on-site inspection is requested, a different <br /> 39 appraiser than the one who originally appraised the property <br /> 40 will view it the second time. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 Dr. Charles Kirk, 3612 Penrod Lane, stated that while some <br /> 43 market values appear to have been dropping, his increased <br /> 44 $1 , 700 . He had added a porch to his home which was completed <br /> 45 in 1990 . He noted this porch is still referred to in his <br /> 46 statement for taxes payable in 1993. The appraiser will <br /> 47 contact Dr. Kirk regarding this matter. <br /> 48 <br /> 49 Mayor Ranallo said he has received calls from three property <br /> 50 owners whose values have decreased and they were concerned. <br />
