CITY OF ST. ANTHONY 3 BOARD OF REVIEW 4 5 APRIL 13 , 1993 6 7 1 . CALL TO ORDER 8 9 Mayor Rana 1 lo called the Board of Review to order at 6 : 30 p.m. 10 11 2 . ROLL CALL 12 13 Council Present : Mayor Ranallo and Councilmembers Enrooth, 14 Fleming and Wagner. 15 16 Council Absent : Councilmember Marks 17 18 Staff Present : City Manager Burt , Management Assistant Urbia 19 and Hennepin County Appraiser Positzky. 20 21 3. PURPOSE OF THE BOARD OF REVIEW 22 23 Mayor Ranallo explained that the purpose of the Board of 24 Review it to review property valuations as ot January 2, 1993 25 and to hear appeals from citizens who feel aggrieved or have questions regarding property valuations . The Mayor also explained that any property owner who is not 29 satisfi'ed with the values placed on his/her property as a 30 result of this meeting, can make an appointment to be heard at 31 the Hennepin County Board of Equalization meetings. These 32 meet-ings are held the last two weeks in June. The deadline for 33 making an appointment to be included on the agenda is June 34 6th. 35 36 The appraiser advised those in attendance which quadrant of 37 the City had on-site inspections this year. It was also noted 38 that if another on-site inspection is requested, a different 39 appraiser than the one who originally appraised the property 40 will view it the second time. 41 42 Dr. Charles Kirk, 3612 Penrod Lane, stated that while some 43 market values appear to have been dropping, his increased 44 $1 , 700 . He had added a porch to his home which was completed 45 in 1990 . He noted this porch is still referred to in his 46 statement for taxes payable in 1993. The appraiser will 47 contact Dr. Kirk regarding this matter. 48 49 Mayor Ranallo said he has received calls from three property 50 owners whose values have decreased and they were concerned.
