As you may recall, approximately $1.3 million is available to the Cities of
St. Anthony, St. Paul, and Minneapolis for home buyouts resulting from the President's Disaster
Declaration for the area in July, 1997.
The St.Anthony application requests$600,000 of the$1,300,000 available for the Twin Cities area. The
application has been preliminarily completed and we are awaiting the return of a few pieces of
information from homeowners whose homes are proposed to be purchased through this process.
A meeting date has also been set with the State of Minnesota Division of Emergency Management,
which is responsible for administering the funds of the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, for
Wednesday, December 17, 1997, at 8:00 AM. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the City's
application and the evaluation criteria for ranking the applications. The final application is due to the
Division of Emergency Management by December 28, 1997.
Attached, please find a"Resolution Authorizing Execution of Sub-Grant Agreements",which is required
to be included with the application packet. Briefly, the resolution authorizes Mike Morrison, City
Manager,to execute and sign all sub-grant agreements associated with Hazard Mitigation Grants.
It is anticipated that Friday, December 26, 1997,the application forms will be submitted. If you have
any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact either of us at 541-4800.
Sincerely,
WSB & Associates,Inc.
Todd E.
