MEMORANDUM 25 <br /> DATE: 9/26/00 <br /> TO: City Council <br /> FROW City Manager Mornson <br /> RE: Interim Ordinance (Mo atorium) on Permits for Antennas and Towers.. <br /> During their July and August meetings,the Planning Commission discussed passage of a moratorium on new <br /> construction/erection of Antennas and Towers. On September 19,the Commission established a subcommittee <br /> (Commissioners Melsha,Hatch and Stille)to study the existing ordinance and a proposed draft antenna ordinance <br /> submitted by staff. The Commission also voted unanimously to recommend Council pass an interim ordinance <br /> (moratorium),pursuant to Minnesota Statutes,Section 462.355,Subd.4.,prohibiting the issuancelconsideration <br /> of new permits for antennas and/or towers for a period of one(1)year. Said interim ordinance will afford the <br /> Commission an opportunity to adequately study/review the existing ordinance and replacelamend as deemed <br /> necessary. <br /> By copy of this communication,staff asks City Attorney Soth to draft an interim ordinance. Staff Will present <br /> said ordinance at the October 10,2000 meeting of City Council. <br /> Cc: City Attorney Soth <br /> • City Clerk Kroeplin <br /> • <br />
