26
3205 Croft Drive
St. Anthony, Minnesota 55418
(612) 789-7433
July 17, 2002
Mr. Mike Morrison, City Manager
St. Anthony Village
3301 Silver Lake Road
St. Anthony, Minnesota 55418
RE: Facilities Task Force
Dear Mr. Mornson:
I read with interest about the Facilities Task Force for the city in the St. Anthony Bulletin.
I would like to explain why I feel I am a qualified candidate for the task force.
Back in the early 1990s, I resigned from my position as a St. Anthony Village firefighter.
During my 12 years of service, I concluded that a centrally-located firehouse of adequate
size capable of containing all the trucks would be good for all concerned. Also, through
the years, the Public Works Department has deserved a better looking and functioning
facility than it currently occupies, which I consider to be substandard.
Besides my experience with the St. Anthony Fire Department, my background also
makes me a good candidate for the Facilities Task Force. I learned engine and machinery
repair in the U.S. Navy. I received further vocational training at Dunwoody Institute in
the refrigeration program. With my work experience as a building and production
maintenance mechanic of 34 years, I could propose, consider, and evaluate facility plans.
Thus, I feel assured that I could make a contribution to the city's Facilities Task Force.
Sincerely,
Stephen R. Jo on
