26 <br /> 3205 Croft Drive <br /> St. Anthony, Minnesota 55418 <br /> (612) 789-7433 <br /> July 17, 2002 <br /> Mr. Mike Morrison, City Manager <br /> St. Anthony Village <br /> 3301 Silver Lake Road <br /> St. Anthony, Minnesota 55418 <br /> RE: Facilities Task Force <br /> Dear Mr. Mornson: <br /> I read with interest about the Facilities Task Force for the city in the St. Anthony Bulletin. <br /> I would like to explain why I feel I am a qualified candidate for the task force. <br /> Back in the early 1990s, I resigned from my position as a St. Anthony Village firefighter. <br /> During my 12 years of service, I concluded that a centrally-located firehouse of adequate <br /> size capable of containing all the trucks would be good for all concerned. Also, through <br /> the years, the Public Works Department has deserved a better looking and functioning <br /> facility than it currently occupies, which I consider to be substandard. <br /> Besides my experience with the St. Anthony Fire Department, my background also <br /> makes me a good candidate for the Facilities Task Force. I learned engine and machinery <br /> repair in the U.S. Navy. I received further vocational training at Dunwoody Institute in <br /> the refrigeration program. With my work experience as a building and production <br /> maintenance mechanic of 34 years, I could propose, consider, and evaluate facility plans. <br /> Thus, I feel assured that I could make a contribution to the city's Facilities Task Force. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> Stephen R.
