City Council Regular Meeting Minutes 3 <br /> November 26, 2002 <br /> Page 3 <br /> 1 Motion by Councilmember Faust to adopt Resolution 02-071, re: Commission appointments. <br /> 2 <br /> 3 Mayor Hodson reviewed the Commission appointments with the Council as follows: <br /> 4 <br /> 5 North Suburban Communications Commission Clarence Ranallo <br /> 6 Parks Commission—Dan Ganley and Julie Gebhardt <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Mr. Morrison noted the interview of candidates for the two Planning Commission openings <br /> 11 would occur on December 9, 2002 at 5:45 p.m. with the appointment being made at the Council <br /> 12 meeting that night. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 VIII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCILMEMBERS. <br /> 15 Mr. Mornson noted the memorandum detailing the Year 2002 Mayor and Council participation <br /> 16 on outside organizations and asked the Council to consider appointments to be made for 2003. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Councilmember Faust stated he serves on the League of Minnesota Cities committee and would <br /> 19 prefer to stay on that appointment since there is some benefit to longevity with that appointment. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Mayor Hodson agreed that changing appointments each year stops momentum as well as <br /> 22 relationships that have been built. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 Councilmember Horst noted that the Planning Commission and Parks Commission Liaison <br /> 25 appointments are usually changed each year to provide some variation in the representation. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Councilmember Thuesen stated he would like to serve as the Planning Commission Liaison and <br /> 28 to remain on the Northwest Youth and Family Services. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 Councilmember Sparks stated the Community Prevention Coalition is now called the Family <br /> 31 Services Collaborative. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Mayor Hodson stated he is serving on the League of Minnesota Cities Transportation Advisory <br /> 34 Board <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Mr. Morrison asked Councilmember Horst if he'd like to stay on the Community Services <br /> 37 ' Advisory Council. Councilmember Horst indicated he would. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Following discussion, consensus was reached on the following appointments: <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Mayor Hodson—Chamber of Commerce; League of Cities Transportation Advisory Board; and <br /> 42 Northwest Suburban Cable Commission Alternate. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 Councihnember Thuesen—Northwest Youth&Family Services; Friends of the Library; St. <br /> 45 Anthony Orchestra; and Planning Commission Liaison. <br /> 46 <br />
