37 <br /> Section 515 —DOGS <br /> 515.01 —License Required. All dogs over six (6)months of age, kept, harbored or maintained <br /> within the City shall be licensed and registered. Dogs must be licensed on or before March 1 of <br /> each year and pay the license fee set forth in Section 600 and the license shall be valid for two-(2) <br /> years. The applicant shall give the following information on forms provided by the City: owner's <br /> name and address, name of dog,breed(if known), color, and sex of the dog. <br /> 515.02 - Immunization for Rabies. No do 41 be heensed u ^'° s the^vv%er-ftH:flishes the vai ° <br /> within 18 meths of the appheation for-the No dog will be licensed unless the owner <br /> furnishes a current rabies immunization record from a licensed veterinarian. <br /> 515.03 —Issuance of Tags, DLiplicates. The Clerk will.perform all duties according to State law in <br /> issuing dog licenses. The Clerk will furnish for each licensed dog a metallic or plastic tag, <br /> stamped or engraved with the register number of the dog and the year when registered. This <br /> number corresponds with name and address of the owner. The owner or keeper of a dog must <br /> place and keep around the dog's neck a collar on which the license tag is securely fixed. In case <br /> the tag is lost or stolen,the owner or keeper of a dog may receive a duplicate tag and a duplicate <br /> license upon presenting and surrendering to the Clerk the license or receipt issued when the dog <br /> was registered. The dog owner must pay the required duplicated license fee at this time. The <br /> duplicate license will be registered,numbered, described and issued as the original license. No <br /> person will be granted a duplicate tag and license unless the original tag has actually been lost or <br /> stolen. The Clerk may,before issuing a duplicate tag and license, require an affidavit to be made <br /> and furnished by the applicant. The affidavit must state the fact that the tag has been lost or stolen <br /> and is not at the time in the possession of the person. <br /> 515.04—Releasing Impounded Dog. Any dog impounded when not properly licensed will be <br /> release only on payment of the appropriate license fee, the kupeunding fee, any related eests, and <br /> . This may include . <br /> the impounding fee, and related costs, and the presentation of a current rabies immunization <br /> record from a licensed veterinarian. <br /> Section 520—KENNELS <br /> 520.01 —License Require. No person may keep or harbor in any place within the City except in a <br /> licensed in a licensed kennel, more than two (2) three (3) dogs over the age of six (6)months. <br /> Any premises which are kept and maintained for the business of selling,boarding,breeding, <br /> showing, or treating dogs, and any place where more then twe-(2) three (3) dogs over the age of <br /> six months are habitually kept, is deemed to be a kennel. No premises may be kept or maintained <br /> as a kennel without a kennel license issued by the City after payment of the license fee set forth in <br /> Section 600. <br /> 520.02 - Conditions. Kennels must be kept in a clean sanitary and well-ventilated condition at all <br /> times. All kennels must be open to inspection by City officials at all reasonable times. No kennel <br /> will be maintained with the boundaries of a residential district. <br />
