She requested staff to follow up on this matter and also requested <br /> 2 the Bulletin advertise for people interested in serving on this committee. <br /> 3 Ms. Nordahl indicated her interest in serving. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 D. Cable Televising Council Meetings and Planning Commission Meetings. <br /> 6 Councilmember Marks reported that preparation for televising City <br /> 7 Council meetings and Planning Commission meetings is complete. All <br /> 8 that is still needed is to hire -someone to operate the camera. Some <br /> 9 concern was expressed by Councllmember -Makowske regarding the Council <br /> 10 meeting room and- its lighting. Councilmember Marks questioned the impor- <br /> 11 tance of'bringing this opportunity to view the meetings "live" versus <br /> 12 the quality of the picture. <br /> 13 Sue VanderHeyden noted it would cost approximately $1 ,000 per year to <br /> 14 televise these meetings. <br /> 15 Councilmember. Ranallo recommended this issue be considered during budget <br /> 16 deliberations for next year and 'pursue the costs at that time. No Council <br /> 17 action was taken. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 In response to an informational question, the. Acting City Manager advised <br /> 20 that. 4,200 copies of the Newsletter are mailed out but this figure includes <br /> 21 300 business establishments. She thinks there are approximately 2,800 <br /> 22 hcW seholds in the City. <br /> • 23 <br /> 24 10.
