Departments and Committees <br /> 9 <br /> 10 There were no department or committee reports <br /> 11 <br /> 12 C. Acting City Manager <br /> 13 <br /> 14 The Acting City Manager provided a summary report on the Silver Lake <br /> 15 Road Reconstruction Project. She advised that this project is being <br /> 16 done primarily for safety reasons. There has been a fatality in this <br /> 17 area and pedestrians have been requesting some safeguards on this road <br /> 18 since the 1970' s. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 The Acting City Manager advised the Council that bids have been received <br /> 21 for a permanent filtration plant . On November 17th there will be an infor- <br /> 22 mational meeting regarding this project for general contractors and sub- <br /> �3 contractors. • <br /> 24 <br /> 25 NEW BUS 114ESS <br /> 26 <br /> 27 A. Approval of Bids for Repairs to Well #3 <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Motion by Marks, second by Makowske to award the bid for the repair <br /> 30 of Well #3 to Rieke Carroll Muller and Associates in the amount of <br /> 31 $3,600.00. Marks inquired if this bid is just for engineering work and <br /> 32 was advised by the Public Works Director that it was. The Public Works <br /> 33 Director also noted that the associated costs may not be that high <br /> 34 but this was a "not to exceed" figure. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 37 <br /> 38 B. Award of Recycling Container Bid <br /> 39 <br /> 40 The Acting City Manager distributed copies of the new bids and she <br /> 41 explained the changes. She advised that the bins will all be blue in <br /> 42 color and will have the "St. Anthony" logo on them. The City will receive <br /> 43 $5.00 per household for bins from Hennepin County. She is negotiating with <br /> 44 45 Ramsey County regarding funds available for reimbursement to the City. The <br /> 46 remaining costs will come from the City's Beautification Fund. The original <br /> 47 bid included containers for apartments. Apartments should not have been in- <br /> 48 cluded in the bid. The City Attorney advised that there was no need to rebid • <br /> 49 this project. <br /> 50 Motion by Enrooth, second by Marks to award the bid for recycling containers <br />
