1 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING • <br /> 2 OCTOBER 13, 1992 <br /> 3 PAGE 6 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 The next Village Fest meeting is scheduled for November <br /> 7 9th at 8 : 00 p.m. Co-Chairs of the Village Fest have been <br /> 8 selected and the Rockin ' Hollywoods have committed to <br /> 9 participate. The dates for the 1993 Village Fest are July <br /> 10 23rd, 24th and 25th. The Kiwanis Club will also be <br /> 11 requested to host a Pancake Breakfast . <br /> 12 <br /> 13 The annual marathon for non-public education is <br /> 14 traditionally held outside of the City. Councilmember <br /> 15 Fleming noted that in 1993 St . Charles School is <br /> 16 considering holding it in the City. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 The Fire Chief has already been contacted about this <br /> 19 matter. He will require a specific date and the route <br /> 20 selected for the marathon. Councilmember Fleming advised <br /> 21 that the tentative date selected is Saturday, October 2 , <br /> 22 1993 . <br /> 23 <br /> 24 3 . Report of Councilmember Marks <br /> 25 <br /> 26 The Sister City Committee met on September 27 , 1992 and <br /> 27 nearly all of the members were present . The trip to Salo, • <br /> 28 Finland was reviewed. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 The Committee stated one of its goals is to encourage <br /> 31 future happenings such as additional trips to Salo and <br /> 32 completing a video tape. Dave Urbia is working with the <br /> 33 Committee on the video tape. Councilmember Marks will be <br /> 34 meeting with the School Superintendent for the purpose of <br /> 35 instituting a student exchange program. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 4 . Report of Councilmember Enrooth <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Councilmember Enrooth had nothing to report at this time. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 5. Report of Mayor Ranallo <br /> .42 <br /> 43 Mayor Ranallo attended a first grade class where "City <br /> 44 Government" was the topic. He found it enlightening as to <br /> 45 what the students know about city government- and its <br /> 46 operations . They were very aware of the responsibilities <br /> 47 of the Police and Fire Departments and the importance of <br /> 48 .911 . He addressed how the youngsters could be of help in <br /> 49 their community, especially regarding recycling. <br /> 50. <br /> • <br />
