REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br /> JANUARY 26, 1993 <br /> 3 PAGE 5 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 At the February Council work session the survey from 1988 will <br /> 7 be reviewed . At that time consideration will be given to <br /> 8 conducting a similar survey . <br /> 9 <br /> 10 The Mayor has received many phone calls regarding enforcement <br /> 11 of the off-street parking ordinance . The City Manager. advised <br /> 12 that many letters were sent today to residents who are not <br /> 13 complying with the ordinance and it is being enforced. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Mayor Ranallo has been informed that an organization of Roman <br /> 16 Catholic priests have planned a national convention this <br /> 17 summer which will be held at the Salvation Army Camp. <br /> 18 Councilmember Wagner noted that these are very good <br /> 19 facilities . <br /> 20 <br /> 21 The Mayor has also received numerous calls regarding the <br /> 22 street improvement projects . He felt these calls were in <br /> 23 response to the article in the Bulletin . He requested that the <br /> 24 information continue to be given out and that residents be <br /> 25 advised there will be neighborhood meetings held to discuss <br /> these projects . He noted that some of the callers did not <br /> understand these will be assessable projects . <br /> 29 B. Report of the City Manager <br /> 30 <br /> 31 1 . Feasibility Study —Street Improvements <br /> 32 The City Manager advised that the Street Improvements <br /> 33 Feasibility Study will be presented for Council <br /> 34 consideration at the next Council Meeting. Areas which <br /> 35 need improvements will be identified by groups with the <br /> 36 intention of getting better bids . <br /> 37 <br /> 38 2 . Discussion of Street Utility Fees Resolution <br /> 39 This item is for informational purposes only and needs no <br /> 40 Council action. , <br /> 41 <br /> 42 The City Manager stated that assessments are becoming <br /> 43 more difficult to prove as benefitting specific <br /> 44 properties which are assessed. His intention is to employ <br /> 45 the services of an appraiser who will review the values <br /> 46 to benefitted properties before individual improvements <br /> 47 are commenced. Homes will be randomly selected and a <br /> 48 fifty percent benefit is being looked at . A letter was <br /> 49 received from Maier Stewart and Associates regarding this <br /> 50 matter. <br /> • <br />
