1 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br /> 2 OCTOBER 26., 1993 • <br /> 3 PAGE 6 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Councilmember Enrooth stated there is a grant program being <br /> 7 made available for those property owners who have to make <br /> 8 changes in their homes regarding their sump pumps . <br /> 9 <br /> 10 The City Manager advised this grant money was being made <br /> 11 available by the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission (MWCC) . <br /> 12 The grant application submitted by St . Anthony had been <br /> 13 rejected as the MWCC has focused on immediate effectiveness <br /> 14 rather than long term. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 Mayor Ranallo had heard from some real estate agents they were <br /> 17 not informed of this ordinance requirement regarding sump <br /> 18 pumps . <br /> 19 <br /> 20 The City Manager stated that this information was first made <br /> 21 available in the September 1992 City newsletter . Since then <br /> 22 there have been numerous handouts available and articles <br /> 23 written about this subject . <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Discussion continued regarding who is responsible for <br /> 26 informing property owners and buyers of homes . The question of <br /> 27 enforcement was also considered. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 The City Manager was requested to have the City Attorney <br /> 30 review the ordinance and prepare his observations by the <br /> 31 December Council work session . <br /> 32 <br /> 33 B. City Manaaer ' s Report <br /> 34 <br /> 35 The -City Manager met with representatives of the City of New <br /> 36 Brighton and Ramsey County regarding the plans for Silver Lake <br /> 37 Road. The plans will be reviewed by the respective City <br /> 38 Councils and then neighborhood informational meetings will be <br /> 39 held . <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Presently, the drainage plans are not complete but they will <br /> 42 be before the neighborhood meetings are scheduled. No <br /> .43 construction timetable is available at this time . <br /> 44 <br /> 45 8 . PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> 46 <br /> 47 There were no public hearings . <br /> 48 <br /> 49 9.
