City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> November 12, 1996 <br /> Page 2 <br /> 1 A. Dorsey& Whitney in the amount of$1,951.70 for legal services rendered through <br /> 2 September 30, 1996. <br /> 3 B. Hessian, McKasy. & Soderberg in the amount of$3,000.00 for Schnitzer Iron and Metal <br /> 4 MERLA Site Group Assessment. <br /> 5 C. 4 pages of Verified Claims as presented by the Finance Director. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 8 VIL REPORTS. <br /> 9 A. Councilmembers. <br /> 10 Wagner reported his attendance at the Community Service Advisory Council Meeting-last week. <br /> I I The meeting was held at the new Wilshire Park Media Center. Wagner noted there was concern <br /> 1� expressed regarding the size'and type of equipment for the new playground. There have been <br /> 13 some offers from organizations to help pay for new equipment. One suggestion was that the <br /> 14 playground be located near the tennis courts so parents could watch their children while they <br /> 15 played tennis. Wagner reported the Community Services Halloween Party was successful and <br /> 16 earned funds for the program. The Fire Department sold two birthday parties at over$100.00 <br /> 17 each. <br /> 18 Wagner reported his attendance at the Healthy Community/Healthy Youth Steering Committee <br /> 19 Meeting this morning. The Committee making progress on hiring a coordinator for the program <br /> 20 and hope to have this completed by the first of the year. The Committee is planning to begin <br /> 21 promotion, advertising and publication throughout the community to increase awareness and <br /> 22 support of the program. <br /> 23 Faust reported he will be attending the League of Minnesota Adoption Meeting on November 22, <br /> 24 1996. He also stated he felt the joint Planning Commission/City Council Meeting which was <br /> 25 held on October 29, 1996 was a good kick-off. There was good vision for the City and he was <br /> �26 glad to be part of the Comprehensive Plan Task Force. <br /> 27 Enrooth reported the Joint Powers Agreement is moving forward and has received approval of all <br /> 28 the attorneys involved. The next meeting is scheduled for December 11, 1996'and if agreed to, <br /> 29 the agreement will be voted on and resolutions passed by all City Councils involved. <br /> 30 Marks reported his attendance at the Orchestra Board of Directors Meeting. He stated he also is <br /> 31 involved with the Healthy Community/Healthy Youth Education Committee. Another meeting <br /> 32 of this committee is scheduled in one week. <br /> 33 Marks noted he had received information from Staff regarding covered waste containers and was <br /> 34 investigating the options available., <br />
