He stated he had spent some time <br /> 2 since the-last City Council Meeting and contacted a number of the persons whom he had <br /> 3 given the City of St. Anthony as references. Not one of the persons had received a call <br /> 4 from Liquor Operations Manager Larson.- He stated he wanted to bring this to the <br /> 5 attention of the City Council and asked that he be provided with a list of the customer <br /> 6 who had made these claims. <br /> 7 Liqu or Operations Manager Mike Larson, stated he would recommend this item be tabled <br /> 8 until he finalized all his research. Mr. Larson stated he had the opportunity to talk with <br /> Mr. Anderson this past week and wanted to state publicly that in no way was he <br /> 10 attempting to discredit Mr. Anderson or his company. Mr. Larson stated he hoped he did <br /> I I not present the information in that fashion,that was not his intent and if it was perceived <br /> 12 in that manner,he apologizes. <br /> 13 Councilmember Marks asked Mr. Allen if he had determined if the underlying <br /> 14 architecture of his company's system was object oriented. <br /> 15 Michael Allen, Retail Data Systems, reported he had the opportunity to speak with the <br /> 16 President of Synchronics Software, Jeff Goldstein. Mr. Goldstein had explained that the <br /> 17 software is reusable. The software is designed so it can be consistently reused as <br /> 18 appropriate to perform functions. The reusable element of the software design allows that <br /> 19 when changes are made,there are fewer areas that have to be changed and this reduces <br /> 20 the number of problems. Mr. Goldstein also had explained another feature is that the <br /> 21 structure is expandable. The necessary hooks and switches are built into the base <br /> 22 . platform to allow for additional features in the future. This allows for easier growth. Mr. <br /> 23 Goldstein had also explained there are 1.3 million lines of code in the software. <br /> 24 Motion by Enrooth, second by Wagner to table consideration of Resolution 96-064 to the <br /> 25 December 18, 1996 City Council meeting for fin-ther evaluation and consultation with <br /> 26 City Attorney based on the current conversation and recommendation of Staff. <br /> 27 Motion carried unanimously_- <br /> 28 X.
