RiCk LUND
3821 Foss Rd
St.Anthony,Mn.55421
Phone 7788-7889
Fax 788-7889-1
July 18, 1997
City of St. Anthony
3301 Silver Lake Rd.
St. Anthony,Mn., 55418-1699
Attn. -City Planning Commission
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing this letter concerning my Triplex located.at 3821 Foss Rd. There are two hardships which I would like to
have addressed. The first being my need for a 2 car garage and the second being a substantial water drainage problem
which has caused repeated problems on the property.
Proposal-To remove a very old and unsightly storage building and build a new attached 2 car tuck under garage
with a 2 bedroom apartment above it. I would also request a 10' x 20' storage locker as part of this structure.
Response to City Concerns
1. How would this variance relieve an undue hardship?
(a. )It would allow me to aquire some much needed garage space
(b. )It would allow me to delete a unsightly gravel driveway on the North side of my home and replace it with a new
asphalt driveway.
(c. )Removing the old storage building would allow me to create a drainage area at an existing 6"P.V.C. drainage
pipe which is was intended to carry water away from the house but currently cannot handle any substantial rain
or spring thawing. With my proposal there would be a small flood plain created to hold the water until the pipe
can carry away the excess water.
(d. )I believe the asthetic value would be greatly improved.
Thank you for your time and cosideration !
Sincerely,
Rick Lorentz
