PUBLIC HEARINGS.
1. Conditional Use Permit - St. Charles Borromeo Church.
Chair Bergstrom opened the public hearing at 7:05 P.M.
Ms. Moore-Sykes reported that in August, Gerald De Zelar, architect for Gerald De Zelar &
Associates, contacted the City informing Staff that St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church was
planning to construct a fellowship hall addition to the church. This proposed construction
constitutes a change to the structure and as a result of this proposed change, the church is
required to obtain a conditional use permit for the property.
St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church was constructed in 1958, before the City's zoning
districts and ordinances were codified. As such, the church has existed in this residential area
without the required conditional use permit because it is a grandfathered use.
