City Council Meeting Minutes <br /> April 13, 1999 <br /> Page 4 <br /> Tootsie Rolls are handed out and donations are accepted. He added that the proceeds from this <br /> drive will benefit mentally handicapped children in the community. <br /> Mr. Prockett stated that this year's drive will be located at 2 local businesses: the liquor stores at <br /> 2700.Highway 88 and 3802 Silver Lake Road. He added that permission has been obtained for <br /> the drive from the business owners, and the Knights of Columbus are requesting the City's <br /> approval. <br /> Motion by Marks, second by Thuesen to approve a request from the Knights of Columbus to <br /> conduct their Tootsie Roll Fund Raiser for mentally handicapped children on April 23, 24, and <br /> 25, 1999. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> C. Proclamation declaring Volunteer Recognition Week, April 18-24, 19996 <br /> Motion by Faust, second by Marks to approve a proclamation declaring Volunteer Recognition <br /> Week, April 18-24, 1999. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> D. Reconvene Board of Review. <br /> Ranallo reconvened the Board of Review at 7:08 PM. <br /> Ranallo welcomed Hennepin County Assessor Carrie Luther and invited her to address the <br /> Council. Ms. Luther reviewed a number of changes which had been made to the Board of <br /> Review involving 26 reviews and 11 physical inspections. <br /> Motion by Marks, second by Faust to approve changes to Board of Review as indicated by Carrie <br /> Luther. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Thuesen, second by Marks to close the Board of Review at 7:10 PM. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Ranallo stated that Carrie Luther will be leaving the City's service to work in the Hennepin <br /> County head offices after 5 years of service. He expressed the Council's appreciation of her <br /> efforts and hard work. <br /> E. Presentation of 1998 Fire Department Annual Report. <br />
