City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> September 26, 2000 <br /> Page 12 <br /> 1 He wished,to briefly discuss the project for the Council, and in that respect, he presented <br /> 2 a report for the 2001 Street and Utility Improvements Feasibility Report. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 Mr. Hubmer then reviewed for the Council the details of the project and answered various <br /> 5 questions from the Councilmembers. Additionally, he presented some maps and <br /> 6 explained some of the project in detail pursuant to the map. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Motion by Thuesen to approve Resolution 00-078, a Resolution Receiving Report and <br /> 9 Ordering Plans and Specifications, wherein the City Council of the City Council of the <br /> 10 City of St. Anthony (1) will consider the improvement of such streets in accordance with <br /> 11 the report at an estimated total cost of the improvement of$1,576,100.00; and (2) WSB <br /> 12 & Associates, Inc. is hereby designated as the engineer for this improvement. They shall <br /> 13 prepare plans and specifications for making such improvements. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Mr. Hubmer reported that there was some issue regarding flooding from September 2. <br /> 18 The insurance company had never received a list of the homeowners that did have <br /> • 9 backups as a result of the September 2, 2000 storm. The insurance company now has a <br /> list of those homeowners and has been in contact with them. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Some losses were incurred due to the flooding on the east side of the City. At some <br /> 23 point, he stated, the City might want to consider a Feasibility Report for that area. <br /> 24 Motion by Sparks to reopen the 2000 Floodproofing Grant Program to assist in the con- <br /> 25 struction of flood improvements this fall. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Cavanaugh thanked Mr. Hubmer for his information and presentation. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 XI. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCILMEMBERS. <br /> 32 City Manager Michael Mornson reported that: <br /> 33 <br /> 34 * The Kiwanis peanut sale will be on Friday, September 29, 2000. The date was <br /> 35 changed due to inclement weather. <br /> 36 ** The city is finalizing the budget based on adoption of the levy at the last meeting. <br /> 37 The December 11 meeting is the truth-in-taxation hearing. <br /> •_ 1 ** The Walgreen's proposal is moving forward on the 37th Avenue property. A <br /> A concept review will be done with the Planning Commission next month. <br />
