MEMORANDUM . <br /> DATE: November 6, 2000 <br /> TO: Mike Mornson, City Manager <br /> FROM: Jay Hartman, Director of Public Works <br /> ITEM: Monument Sign at City Hall <br /> The following is a quote on the installation of a McKay Electronic Display monument <br /> sign in front of City Hall/Community Center: <br /> LeRoy Sign Company will fabricate a double-sided sign cabinet approximately 5' high <br /> • e. The si will have a routed aluminum top header section and internally <br /> x 10 .wid gn <br /> illuminated copy "St. Anthony City Hall". The bottom section of the sign will contain a <br /> double-sided L.E.D. message center. The electronic sign will be 2'high x 8'8" wide <br /> with 2 lines of red 8" high L.E.D. characters. The sign will be installed in a cabinet on <br /> steel poles with the bottom section covered in aluminum. The electrical service and <br /> designated data cable conduit run to the sign will be performed by the City. <br /> The considerations regarding this sign are: <br /> The current City Sign Ordinance Section 1400.07 "Prohibited Signs", restricts signs <br /> from being constructed on the public right-of--way (Subd 4), animated signs (Subd.15),'. <br /> and flashing signs (Subd.16). The electronic sign proposed has the capability of the <br /> animation and flashing. -'The sign will be installed on the City right-of-way. <br /> Cost of sign and installation $33,650.00 <br /> 10% contingency (Data Cable Conduit Run) 3,365.00 <br /> TOTAL: $37,015.00 <br />
