Ordinance No. 1976-003 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO CITY'S <br /> PERSONNEL POLICY <br /> The enclosed ordinance amendments are the ones I discussed with <br /> the Council some time ago. The first one allows the City the <br /> option of providing non union employees with benefits other than <br /> longevity. Several employees have already indicated a desire <br /> to do .just that. The second part grants non union employees <br /> certain specified funeral leave. This increases their benefits <br /> and makes. them comparable with most of the citysunion employees . <br /> • ACTION: Recommend. approval. <br /> 7 . Old Business <br /> a. Discussion of storm and sanitary sewer -repairs on 29th <br /> in conjunction with rebuilding of 29th. Ice Comstock wants <br /> to briefly point out the storm and sanitary sewer repairs he <br /> is planning for along with the rebuilding of 29th. <br /> ACTION: Informational <br /> 8 . New Business <br /> a. Patrick J.. Carline, 7440 Van Buren, Fridley, regarding <br /> license .for laundromat at 2407-Lowry. He wants to protest <br /> license fee... Mr. Carline has indicated he will be at the meeting <br /> to discuss our license fee for his business. <br /> ACTION: I have discussed the matter with Mr. Carline and don' t <br /> agree with .him. In addition if you remember we originally set <br /> a much higher fee for this type of business and then lowered it <br /> to a maximum of $250 if their per machine cost should be over <br /> that. I feel we have been more than fair to the people who <br /> operate businesses like this and I don't feel we should make <br /> any further adjustments . <br /> 9 . Communications & Petitions <br /> . a. Discussion of hiring H.S. Band to clean parks, street <br /> right-of-way and city property. Mayor Miedtke has discussed <br /> with the band advisors the possibility of their doing work <br /> for the city to earn money for the band. Mayor Miedtke will <br /> be prepared, to discuss. <br />
