CALL TO ORDER. <br /> 5 Mayor Cavanaugh called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> 6 II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br /> 7 Mayor Cavanaugh invited the Council, the School Board, and the audience to join in the Pledge <br /> 8 of Allegiance. <br /> 9 III. ROLL CALL. <br /> 10 The following members from the City Council were present: <br /> 11 Mayor Cavanaugh; Councilmembers Sparks, Thuesen, Horst and Hodson <br /> 12 The following members of the School Board wererep sent: <br /> 13 Warren Rolek, Katie Barrett, Jane Eckert,Barry Kinsey, Rick Dunn, Dave Evans, Denise Dunn. <br /> 14 -Also present <br /> 15 City Manager Michael Morrison; City Attorney William Soth <br /> q7IV. JOINT PUBLIC HEARING RELATING TO GRANTING OF A PROPERTY TAX <br /> ABATEMENT WITH RESPECT TO EVERGREEN TOWNHOMES AND VILLAGE, <br /> 18 TOWNHOMES TO ASSIST WITH FUNDING FOR CENTRAL PARK <br /> 19 IMPROVEMENTS. <br /> 20 A. Mayor's Comments. <br /> 21 Mayor Cavanaugh welcomed everyone in attendance and noted that the purpose of this meeting <br /> 22 was to discuss the renovation of Central Park as well as for the School Board and City Council to <br /> 23 discuss the details of the Park and the financing. <br /> 24 B. School Board Chair's Comments. <br /> 25 Barry Kinsey, School Board Chair, thanked the Parks Commission Chair, Carol Jindra, and the <br /> 26 rest of the Parks Commission for the hard work that has taken place over the past to bring this <br /> 27 project forward. Mr. Kinsey announced that he is proud to bring this project to the public. <br /> 28 C. Carol Jindra, Chair of the Parks Commission will give an overview of Central Park. <br /> 29 Mayor Cavanaugh opened the public hearing at 7:05 p.m. and invited Parks Commission Chair <br /> 30 Carol Jindra to speak to the Council. <br /> 31 Chair Jindra noted that the current design of Central Park does not allow for a full use of <br /> 32 activities. She further described some of the key points that the renovated Central Park would <br /> offer, such as an 8-foot trail system, baseball fields, soccer fields, concession stand, shelter and <br /> other amenities. Additionally, another idea that is still being considered is making a hockey rink <br /> `35 a paved area for rollerblading in the summer. A new wading pool and play area will be <br />
