l <br /> -5- <br /> RESOLUTION 80-084 <br /> • A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND <br /> CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACT SG-80- <br /> 115 WITH THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR <br /> HUD 701 GRANT FUNDS <br /> Motion . carried unanimously. <br /> The Manager had, in his November 13th memorandum, provided' a time <br /> frame for Council consideration of the extensive construction/rehabil- <br /> itation program for the City streets recommended by Short-Elliott- <br /> Hendrickson, Inc. and the City staff. Councilman. Sundland saw <br /> "of prime importance" the public works survey which is to be mailed <br /> to City residents at the end- o.f the year to* ascertain their recogni- <br /> tion of the need and support for the program. <br /> The persons who have indicated- an interest in serving as the Council ' s <br /> representatives on the Chemical Use/Abuse Information Committee <br /> had been listed in the agenda. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Ranallo <br /> to appoint to service on the Chemical Use/Abuse Information_ Com- <br /> mittee, Jan Stroom, 3429 Skycroft Drive N.E,. ; Ruth Hultgren, <br /> 3400 Croft Drive N.E. , and James Stephens, 3501 Downers Drive, ;with <br /> Police Chief Don Hickerson to serve as the City staff liaison`. : <br /> • Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion . by Councilman Ranallo. and .seconded by Councilman Marks to <br /> approve the purchase of the fire hose and accept the bid from <br /> Minnesota Fire, Inc. for $1,312 . 50 , as recommended. by Fire Chief Entner. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Council accepted the recommendations of the Manager and Short- <br /> Elliott-Hendrickson,. Inc. in the following: <br /> Motion by. Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Councilman Marks to <br /> authorize- preparation. of an interim report and joint-powers agree- <br /> ment for submittal to the appropriate agencies for- the proposed <br /> diversion of sanitary flow from the northwest segment of St. Anthony <br /> into the existing City of Minneapolis sanitary sewer system at the <br /> intersection of Stinson Boulevard and 32nd Avenue N.E. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Staff was- requested to prepare, for Council consideration at the <br /> December 9th meeting, a .resolution which will indicate the Council 's <br /> opposition to the proposed amendments to the rules and regulations <br /> for the Rice Creek Watershed District. <br /> The October Fire Department report was noted and ordered filed. <br /> • <br />
